Uppercase, Title Case or Sentence case: which to use?
Published May 28, 2026
Choosing a capitalisation style is a small decision that quietly shapes how text reads. The three styles people reach for most are uppercase, Title Case and Sentence case, and each sends a different signal.
Uppercase
ALL CAPS demands attention and works for short labels, acronyms and warnings. Used for long passages it feels like shouting and slows reading, so keep it brief.
Title Case and Sentence case
Title Case capitalises each major word and suits headings and product names. Sentence case capitalises only the first word and fits body text and UI labels, where it feels calmer and more modern. Our uppercase converter switches between all three in one click.
