Frequently asked questions

Why do some characters stay the same?

Unicode only has rotated look-alikes for some characters. Letters without a convincing upside-down twin (and emoji) pass through unchanged.

Will it work in Instagram and WhatsApp?

Yes. The output is plain Unicode text, so it works anywhere normal text works — bios, captions, statuses and chats.

How do I turn it back?

Paste the flipped text back into the tool and flip again; most characters return to their originals.

About this tool

Upside-down text is a Unicode trick: each letter is swapped for a visually rotated counterpart — a becomes ɐ, e becomes ǝ — and the line is reversed so the result reads naturally when flipped. Because it is ordinary Unicode rather than an image or font, you can paste it into Instagram bios, WhatsApp statuses, Discord names, tweets and game chats. It is a playful way to make a username stand out or hide a spoiler in plain sight. Paired punctuation flips too: parentheses, brackets and question marks all rotate to their mirrored forms.
