Frequently asked questions
Are accented letters treated as letters?
Yes. The filters use Unicode categories, so é, ñ and letters from any script count as letters — not as symbols to be removed.
Which mode removes emoji?
Keep letters & numbers. Emoji are symbols, so that filter drops them while keeping words, digits and spacing.
Does Remove punctuation also remove currency signs?
Yes. Symbols like $, %, and € are removed along with punctuation marks.
About this tool
Sometimes you need just one layer of a text: only the words from a data dump, only the numbers from an invoice line, or a clean version with no punctuation for matching and comparison. This tool offers four precise filters. Remove digits strips every number; Remove letters keeps only numbers and punctuation (handy for pulling figures out of mixed text); Remove punctuation deletes punctuation and symbols while keeping words intact; and Keep letters & numbers is the strictest — it drops everything except letters, digits and spaces, including emoji. All filters are Unicode-aware, so accented letters and non-Latin scripts are treated as letters, not symbols.
